When you purchase NetSpot from the NetSpot website, all minor upgrades are included at no charge. Minor versions are designated by a change in the version numbers to the right of the decimal point (i.e. changing from 1.0 to 1.1). However, there is a charge for major upgrades. Major upgrades are designated by a change in the version number to the left of the decimal point (i.e. changing from 1.9 to 2.0).
So, for example, if you bought NetSpot 2.2, then versions 2.3 to 2.9 will be free, but there will be a charge to upgrade to 3.0. The cost of a major upgrade is typically 50% of the current retail price for that version.
What is a Lifetime Upgrades?
As it is mentioned above, the NetSpot license is perpetual and all minor upgrades are included in the price. However, if you want to get all major upgrades for free as well, you can purchase Lifetime Upgrades. This is an item that can be purchased additionally to your preferred license type by ticking the corresponding box on the licensing page, then clicking the Buy Now button. Lifetime Upgrades allow you to receive all future major upgrades for free.
