I’ve been using NetSpot at home and it’s been a game changer for setting up my WiFi. Despite having a UniFi system and WiFiman at my fingertips, I still opted to pay for NetSpot. What I love about it is how it hits the sweet spot between being powerful and user-friendly. The heatmap feature is a standout for me; it lets me map out my WiFi coverage directly on my floor plan. Plus, it’s super cool how it breaks down coverage by access point and band, so I can easily figure out where my WiFi is strongest and which network types give the best QoS in different parts of my house.
I have been using Netspot for the last 8 years to test, survey and plan wifi systems in homes, offices and hotels. It provides the same stats you get with much more expensive systems. A great pro tool for wifi installers.

Very easy and power tool. it helped us design a very complicated wireless network under 19 hours. 6 floors, 200 rooms. we found the weak spots easily and placed our access point where it should be to be more effective . After 20 years of experience, I can say this is the first time I am fully satisfied with my wireless network design. I didn’t have to guess or do much of trial and error to get what the client needed
The map scale adjustment function gave results that exceeded my expectations.

Software has amazing user interface and powerful features. The new update improved already great visuals and usability. Reports generated within the software are well organized. Highly recommended!
The survey tool is very helpful and the new planning mode is ok but since it is new just needs further development. I sampled 250 points in a large warehouse and we were able to make some major improvements in house without having to hire an IT contractor.
